Idlewild Movie Story - Synopsis. The South USA 1930s, Percival, a piano player, and Rooster, the club's manager, struggle to keep their dreams alive. The story is told through intricate musical numbers and dance sequences by winning OutKast members Andre Benjamin (André 3000) and Antwan Patton (Big Boi). "Idlewild" has drama, music, cinema and style to bring the story of struggling singers to life. It is the directing debut for Bryan Barber, the director and longtime OutKast music video maker. The all-star cast is a roster of some of the most notable performers in film and music today. The Cast includes Ving Rhames ("Mission: Impossible"), Terrence Dashon Howard ("Hustle & Flow"), actress Paula Patton, Faizon Love ("Elf"), Malinda Williams ("Soul Food"), legendary recording singer Patti LaBelle ("On the One"), singer Macy Gray ("Training Day"), Tony Award winner Ben Vereen ("Why Do Fools Fall In Love") and Emmy award winner Cicely Tyson . The movie includes songs from OutKast's new album.
